Evelyn Sides is an adorable and energetic little girl who lives in Alabama. She’s the apple of her parent’s eyes and the favorite human of their pet dog, Lucy.
As Evelyn’s parents both work during the weekdays, the dog takes it upon himself to look after the four-year-old girl. But of course, a nanny was always there with them.
Then one day, Lucy’s loyalty and protection were put to a test.
Lost in the woods
Evelyn loved taking walks with her dog, and she asked her nanny if they could go take a hike in the woods. The adult agreed as they do it regularly. It made the little girl happy, and it gave the dog a chance to exercise. The three were happily walking when suddenly, the nanny realized that the young girl was gone,
She started yelling, calling out Evelyn’s name, but no one responded. Not even the dog. The nanny became frantic and rushed back to their home. She then called the authorities and the little girl’s parents right away.
Soon enough, almost a hundred people showed up to help in the search. The cops used drones and even had a helicopter to look for her. They combed the woods for two days, but there was no sign of the girl and her dog.
The two were finally found when a search party heard a dog respond to their loud calls. They followed the sound, and they were greeted by Lucy barking at them. The loyal pooch then led them to where Evelyn was.
They found the girl a mile away from where she was last seen.
Lucy’s parents were so glad that their daughter was found safe and sound. She was a bit scared but got over her fears when she saw her mom and dad. She then told them what happened.
The little girl said that she was running around while they were taking a hike when she realized that her nanny was gone. She got too far ahead and didn’t know where she was. She tried calling out to her nanny, but she couldn’t hear her.
She then said that she saw Lucy by her side and the dog never left her. The kid and her dog wandered around a bit and then decided to take a rest in one area. That was where they were found.
Lucy was taken to the hospital so she could have a check-up. Thankfully, she had no injuries or any major health concerns.
