The Ramapo-Bergen Animal Refuge, the last resort shelter located in Oakland, New Jersey welcomed another family member into their home.
Sadie was a 100-pound German Shepherd and before she came to this shelter, she was already rejected three times.
When she came in, she was very anxious and they discovered that she was especially uneasy around men. So they thought that Sadie would end up living with a female owner. But they were surprised when they brought in a man named Bryan Myers to meet her. There was an undeniable and immediate connection between the two and she was just simply all over him.
So, it was no question that Myers would adopt Sadie. And finally, after a few months, he was able to finally bring her home. And for the next three months, Myers worked with her anxiety issues, trained her, and also bonded with her. But just recently, Sadie proved to be the best decision Myers ever made.
One night, Myers woke up to go the bathroom but when he got up he felt his legs weakened and he just fell on the floor. But the bad news was that he was trapped in the tiny space between his bed and the wall. His cellphone was too far away so he couldn’t call for help. He also just recovered from a sickness earlier that month.
Sadie quickly sensed that something was wrong so she came to him and licked him all the while looking distressed. He attempted to comfort her so he tried to pet her but when he placed his hand on her collar, she started to pull him across the room. Then he was able to reach his phone and call for help. Sadie saved him.
He spent three weeks in the rehabilitation facility and when they finally saw each other, Sadie was just so excited. She started jumping all over him and kissing him. He definitely loved her and Sadie definitely loved him just as much.
