For more than 20 years, Luis lived as a homeless man in the streets of Cianorte City in Paraná, Brazil. Doctors have diagnosed him as having psychiatric problems, but because of his situation, he cannot afford to seek medical help.
Despite all of the struggles and obstacles that he faced, Luis was a happy man. He had good friends around him, and there is even a family of stray dogs that frequently goes to him. He may not have a lot in life, but he makes sure that he can give those six dogs something to eat.
A lot of people have admired him for his kindness towards these animals. And those dogs became very loyal to him because of that.
Rushed to the hospital
One night, Luis suffered a stroke and fainted. People around the area where he usually stayed called for an ambulance so that he could get the help he needs. In no time at all, the responders arrived and rushed him to the hospital.
His pet dogs were there at that time, and when they saw that the kind man was taken away, they didn’t hesitate to chase the emergency vehicle. The dogs never stopped or wavered. They followed until they arrived at the Santa Casa Hospital.
As they were not allowed inside, the six of them stayed outside. Some would howl and cry as they wait for their owner to come back. Some people tried to make them go away, but they refused to move. They just laid on the ground.
A lot of people there were touched by the loyalty that the stray dogs have shown. For several hours, the dogs waited.
Luis didn’t even know they were there.
When Luis was discharged, the hospital staff took him out on a different exit. He didn’t see the dogs that were waiting for him. As he was hasn’t fully recovered, he was taken to his brother’s house where he can rest comfortably.
As for the dogs, one volunteer took them and brought them to where Luis was. The dog owner was very happy to learn that his pets were concerned about him and waited for hours to see if he was okay. The most important thing is, they are now back together again.
